Do you participate in a Flexible Spending Account (FSA) or Health Savings Account (HSA)? If so, you may be able to use those funds to pay for LASIK laser vision correction here at Gordon Schanzlin New Vision Institute Institute. LASIK, PRK and Custom LASIK procedures are recognized by the U.S. government as eligible medical expenses for LASIK FSAs and HSAs.

FSAs and HSAs are programs sponsored by employers that take allocated amounts of money from your regular paychecks and place them into an account that prevents them from being taxed. They are designed to help employees save money on expenses that may not be covered by an insurance plan. FSAs typically have a “use it or lose it” rule. Under that guideline, the remainder of your FSA balance can be used to pay for part of your LASIK procedure. However, it’s advised that you find out if you are a candidate for LASIK before you set aside any money for the treatment. Once you are determined to be a candidate, you can contact your FSA or HSA administrator for assistance on how you can use the funds to pay for your LASIK procedure.

For many people, the ability to use FSA and HSA funds for LASIK can make a big difference in the ultimate cost of reducing dependence on glasses and contact lenses and significantly improving their vision!
