Dr. Brittany McMurren

McMurrenBrittany McMurren, OD is one of our experienced optometrists here at Gordon Schanzlin New Vision Institute. In addition to offering comprehensive family eye care services, Dr. McMurren specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of dry eye disease, a common affliction that can cause debilitating eye irritation and vision problems. In fact, Dr. McMurren has been instrumental in the development of our Dry Eye Center and offers some of the latest advances in treatment for dry eye syndrome.

After earning her Bachelor of Science degree in Neuroscience at Cedar Crest College, Dr. McMurren received her Doctor of Optometry at the Illinois College of Optometry in Chicago. She is licensed to practice in California. During her graduate years, Dr. McMurren was trained in a variety of eye care fields, including pediatric vision development, anterior segment diseases, pre- and post-operative care for refractive surgery, complex contact lens fitting, sport vision therapy, keratoconus, and rehabilitation after traumatic brain injury. Dr. McMurren also spent time at the New Jersey Neuroscience Institute, serving as a research assistant and building the stroke database – a system designed to integrate in-house stroke data with pre-existing state and nationwide databases.
