David J Tanzer, MD Announces New Position in Ophthalmic Industry

It is with tremendous excitement and some trepidation that I announce my intentions to transition from private practice and assume a new role in the ophthalmic industry. I have been honored with an offer to join a leading ophthalmic manufacturer as their Chief Medical Officer and Divisional Vice President – Medical Affairs. I am privileged to have been given this opportunity; however it does mean leaving my current position with the Gordon-Weiss-Schanzlin Vision Institute. I have enjoyed my affiliation with GWSVI, clearly the premiere cataract and refractive practice, and remain genuinely appreciative for the opportunity over the past 13 months.
The doctors of Gordon-Weiss-Schanzlin Vision Institute will provide continuing care to my surgical patients. I will miss the daily interaction with patients I have come to enjoy so much, but am confident they are in good hands going forward.
